Role of IPN
A major focus of the Indiana Perinatal Network is to promote sound policies and practices to improve the health of mothers and babies in our state. IPN forges collaborative partnerships with state agencies, legislators, and maternal-child health partners to increase communication and develop common-ground solutions. We accomplish this by:
- Working closely with the Indiana General Assembly to introduce and support new legislation,
- Working cooperatively with the Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning and the State Department of Health, and
- Updating perinatal providers of key legislative and administrative policies at the state and federal level and how they can impact these processes.
IPN works closely with the state Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) to implement Presumptive Eligibility and other quality improvement initiatives to improve health outcomes for pregnant women and children. Click here for more information about these initiatives.
